E-Safety at Farcet
Farcet C. of E. Primary School works with governors, staff, pupils, parents and carers to create a school community which values the use of new technologies in enhancing learning, encourages responsible use of ICT (Information and Communictaion Techologies) and follows agreed policies to minimise potential e-safety risks.
We discuss, monitor and review our e-safety policy on a regular basis, linking it with relevant policies such as Safeguarding, Pupil Behaviour, Data Protection and Anti-Bullying policies. We support staff in the use of ICT as an essential tool for enhancing learning and in the embedding of e-safety across the whole school curriculum.
Our pupils spend time using the internet in school and at home. This is why it is important pupils at Farcet learn how to be safe when browsing online and becoming members of online communities. We use the CEOP website ThinkUKnow as a guide to internet safety and safe surfing for our children and parents. It teaches how to have fun, how to stay in control (or how to take control), and if necessary, how to report a problem when using websites, blogs, chatting, online gaming or social media.

Advice for Parents/Carers
One way to make browsing the internet safer at home is to use a 'safe search' search engine. We have a list of safe search engines below:
www.safesearchkids.com | www.askforkids.com | www.kids.yahoo.com | www.kidsclick.org
We encourage parents to set up filtering on their home internet. To learn how to do this for the major providers of internet please click the text below.
