Home School Agreement
A Home-School Agreement has been implemented at the our school. Children achieve more when schools and parents work together. Parents can help more effectively if they know what the school is trying to achieve and how they can help. The Home-School Agreement is designed to provide a framework for the development of such a partnership and sets out the role of the school, parents and pupils in this vital partnership. Parents will be invited to sign this when their children are admitted.

Clubs and activities – due to Covid restrictions, clubs and activities have not taken place in the usual way during the last year. This school year, however, we have several extra-curricular clubs planned - musical opportunities (choir and recorder club) and sporting opportunities (archery and gymnastics). Our after-school club also has a range of craft activities, games and outdoor play taking place each night that you are able to book via ParentPay.
What your children will be learning each year – just a reminder that we publish a termly curriculum overview for each class to let you know what your child will be studying each half term. There is a page for every subject on our school website under the ‘Curriculum’ tab with lots of information about the subject, progression documents and long-term plans. We will also be publishing a termly curriculum newsletter this year for a deeper insight into the intent of subjects within our curriculum.

Remote Learning Survey February 2021
Thank you to everyone who tool the time to complete our survey. Here are some of the comments you shared:
- The live lessons and catch ups are really good for X to keep connected with her teachers and friends. Regular feedback on submitted work is helpful and motivating. The use of google docs and slides is very helpful.
- The recorded lessons are great. We can access them at a time that is convenient for us and the tasks are clear and easy to do from home. The feedback is always prompt and always includes praise and some next steps. Chat time is a great way for the children to stay in touch too.
- I cannot thank you all enough for the amount and quality of the provisions that are in place for home schooling at the moment.
- Excellent google classroom lessons, blended learning, chat times and fun lessons for the children.
- Live lessons are good as keeps that little bit of routine and "actual" school time.
- X enjoys the live chats and engaging with her class. The school work is consistent and no pressure to complete all tasks every day.
- The work is varied and offers a range of differentiated activities. Responses to work is quick and supportive, I find these really motivate X during the day. The afternoon activities offer fun and family exploration, exercise and learning together.
- We really appreciate the loan of the laptop, it has made things much easier. The children love the chat times, story time and assembly and I feel it really helps keep the relationship with school open.
- Providing feedback of my children’s work on a daily basis.
- The work is pitched to the right level, with interactive live lessons and daily chats.
- Just to say a huge well done to everyone. I appreciate how challenging all of this is, specifically the development of new technology. Everyone is always so welcoming and happy, in the life lessons and assembly.

Feedback: You asked .... We did.
You asked for further communication from school - these are the current ways school communicates with families and shares information on how your child is doing; weekly newsletter (emailed and available on school website), curriculum overviews for the year and term available on the school website, progress and attendance updates sent home half termly, 3 parent consultations opportunities during the year, a full school report in July, regular Facebook and Twitter updates. We have introduced termly celebrations of learning so that children are able to share their learning with you regularly. Please take a look at our school website as it is regularly updated with content.
You asked for more outdoor activities for children – we have increased our sports coaching at lunchtime to 3 times a week so that children can access activities during the lunch break, each KS2 child completes a daily mile circuit, EYFS pupils have continuous access to outdoor learning, each class works on the reflection garden on a rota basis. We are looking to increase our use of the den area and would like to fundraise for an outdoor classroom.
You asked for more competitive sports – we will be taking part in a number of competitive events with our cluster during the year including a gymnastics competition, multi-skills event, tri golf and athletics.
You asked for more fund raising events - these are planned for the year but we need volunteers to join our school Friends of Farcet School committee to help with these. Please contact the school office if you are able to help.

Feedback
13% of families were not sure that their child has a good knowledge and understanding of other world faiths – information on the faiths studied in each year group are available in the RE section of the school website. We follow the Cambridgeshire agreed syllabus which ensures that children study world faiths as well as Christianity. You can also find a gallery of work with examples of RE work from the children’s studies of other faiths on this page.
